Hello, I am Faizal Musafar (or you can call me Ical).
I'm a self-taught Product Designer, Web Programmer, Product Manager, Musician, and also a father of an extroverted girl.
I am here to help people and inspire others to do the same, fostering a circle of empowerment and empathy that will grow over time. I am originally from Java, Indonesia, and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Six months before graduating, I landed my first job as a Front-End Developer at a big data startup. From there, I joined a jobseeker company as a Front-End Engineer, where I spent a year learning the complexities of working in a startup environment.
I made a conscious decision to transition into design, a field I have since embraced as my full-time career. Over time, I developed my skills in product and visual design. This transition made the communication skills I developed in college even more valuable, and it felt like I finally found what I was meant to do.
To me, design is all about problem-solving. As a designer, I believe that perfect design goes beyond visual aesthetics—it’s about creating an interface that solves the core Jobs-To-Be-Done. Achieving this requires a deep understanding of human behavior and psychology, as the outcome greatly influences the overall user experience, regardless of the platform.
I particularly enjoy working on projects that combine strategy and visual design. I love tackling problems from the ideation phase and seeing them through to completion with pixel-perfect designs. My aspiration is to become a domain expert in my field, with the ability to navigate the entire process—from user research to design, all the way to shipping and analyzing the results.
During my time at NodeFlair, I contributed to several key initiatives:
Responsible for overseeing all user experience and design aspects of the organization, works with the design and creative team to develop a cohesive experience throughout our platform in order to increase user satisfaction.
Guide entire design process through its completion by presenting them to stakeholders and working along developers to ensure accurate implementation.
Responsible for developing and managing all aspects of Ragamindo designs and creative output (UI/UX, Graphic Design, Material Design, Print Out Design, Logo, Typography, etc). Ensure design and creative deliverables are aligned with expectations and executed within budget and timescales.
